82ND ANNUAL CONFERENCE & DESIGN EXPO
OCTOBER 7–9, 2021 • SAN ANTONIO
About Legacy
legacy
(noun) Anything handed down from the past, as from an ancestor or predecessor.
TxA President, Audrey Maxwell, AIA, said when she selected Legacy as the theme for the 2021 Conference, “There is richness and value in our history, but it behooves us to look back with a critical eye.”
Legacy is something that is created and shaped every day. It represents our body of work, both as we establish our foundational building blocks and as we accumulate the required wisdom to contribute to growth, innovation and opportunity for others. Legacy is a continuous discovery of self that shapes us. Legacy is not defined at the end, but rather by the decisions made, actions taken, and even by the mistakes we overcome. Our legacy grows with each new experience and with each previously untested and bold idea. Legacy is not solely what we leave behind for others, but rather what we do as individuals and a Society to improve and enhance our membership, our profession, and the world around us.
What will be your legacy?
