Position Summary |
Under the direction of the Director of Planning, Design and Construction, the Design and Construction Project Manager is responsible for the management of capital construction projects, including programming, design, construction management and contract administration for the successful execution of the University’s Capital Plan. The position requires a high degree of creativity, foresight, collaboration, and sound professional judgement in planning, organizing, programming, and guiding major and minor capital projects, programs and strategic initiatives to achieve the University’s capital project objectives. Position reports to the Director of Planning, Design and Construction. This position is considered a “Responsible Employee” under the Title IX federal regulations and “Mandatory Reporter” under Texas state law and the UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy. As a Mandatory Reporter, this position requires you as the employee to promptly report any incident that you witness or receive information about Title IX violations. These reporting responsibilities are set out in the UIW Misconduct Policy.

Required Education |
Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management or related field.

Required Work Experience |
Five (5) or more years of progressively responsible experience in the management and design of construction projects, both highly complex and minor.

Preferred Qualifications |
5+ years of design and construction management experience in a Higher Education, Healthcare or Laboratory/Research environment.
Certification or licenses such as:

Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations |
Project Management Professional (PMP).
Registered Architect (RA).
Professional Engineer (PE). |
Work Hours |
Monday-Friday, 8 am to 5 pm with extended hours as needed to meet department goals. Flexible work schedule upon approval by Director of Planning, Design and Construction.
