The AIA Diversity Recognition Program recognizes architects, components, and others for exemplary commitment and contributions to diversifying the profession of architecture.  In 2020, only two were singled out for excellence. AIA San Antonio’s Latinos in Architecture is proud to be a recipient of this tremendous honor.

We wish to express our thanks and gratitude to everyone who has contributed to the efforts of Latinos in Architecture since its inception in 2014. This tremendous recognition would not have been possible without the network members who gave their time and talents producing programs that elevate the significant Latinx contributions to the profession in a powerful and meaningful way. It is also with heartfelt gratitude, that we thank Siboney Diaz-Sanchez, AIA and Adrianna Swindle, AIA for their leadership with this specific endeavor.

LiA seeks to serve and support our local communities by establishing a forum for celebrating Latinos/as in design related professions.  In recognizing National Hispanic Heritage month, LiA is promoting an exhibition showcasing the work of local Latinx architects, designers and students.

We are asking designers to submit images of their work for NEXO 2020.

  • Work will be showcased in a virtual exhibit gallery from 09/15 – 10/15 (Hispanic Heritage Month).
  • There will be a short virtual reception celebrating the selected Boards on 9/15.
  • Access to the exhibit will be unlimited during Hispanic Heritage Month.
