The AIA National Historic Resources Committee was founded in 1890, and known as the “Committee on Conservation of Public Architecture.” Over 120 years later, the Committee is still actively participating in preservation efforts across the country. The mission of the local San Antonio Historic Resources is to identify, understand, and preserve architectural heritage in the Alamo City. HR is engaged in promoting the role of the historic architect within the profession through the development of information and knowledge among members, allied professional organizations, and the public. Meetings are held at Noon on the first Wednesday of each month at the Center for Architecture and are open to anyone interested in the preservation of San Antonio’s architectural heritage.
